Individual Dog Assessments & Playgroup Philosophy
At Paws Paradise Fur Life, each dog is assessed as an individual, taking into account their unique personality, play style, energy level, age, and social preferences. Not every dog thrives in a group setting, and that’s okay. Our playgroups are thoughtfully curated and may include a mix of sizes, ages, and energy levels, but dogs are grouped solely based on compatibility and established friendships, not appearance or breed type.
Dogs may occasionally share space with peers who are not their “best friends.” While we do not expect perfection or universal friendships, we do expect dogs to be socially appropriate, mannered, and able to coexist calmly and respectfully, much like we expect of ourselves in society. We reinforce basic manners and appropriate behavior, but we are not a training facility, and daycare is not the appropriate environment to test a dog’s social skills or work through behavioral challenges.
Assessments are ongoing, and group placements or participation may change as needed to ensure a safe, positive experience for everyone.
Spay / Neuter & Intact Pup Policy
All dogs over the age of 6 months must be spayed or neutered to participate in group play.
We understand that ongoing research supports delayed altering for some dogs. For this reason, intact pups are reviewed on a case-by-case basis with the following requirements:
- A $10 per day intact fee applies.
- Dogs remaining intact past 6 months of age must have a written recommendation from their veterinarian supporting delayed spay/neuter.
- Without this veterinary letter, we are unable to provide daycare or boarding services.
- Intact pups must utilize private suite boarding and will be allowed in select group play but not all.
